This is a 35cm x 35cm x 25cm footstool . The fabric is an original piece of textile artwork , created using applique of tweed and wool blend fabrics to form the background and structure and free motion machine embroidery to bulid up the detail texture and shading . It is stitched onto a backing of heavyweight fire retardant calico. 
 
The fabric is extremely hard wearing and it can be safely used as a footstool without risk of damage to the artwork ( just take your shoes off first ! ) 
 
This is a one off piece and the design will not ever be repeated exactly as seen here.
